Difference between 2017 and 2016 Jeep Cherokee

The Jeep Cherokee is a mid-size SUV that is manufactured by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. This series of SUV’s first came into the market in 2014, after which a new model is released every year.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee has many design upgrades over its predecessor. Although the vehicle does not undergo a complete makeover, the 2017 model is starkly different from its previous ones in many ways. The 2017 version has a more easily customizable outward appearance. It has a sleeker, more luxurious design. The design has been upgraded to suit latest styles, and it is predicted that it will not undergo any more major design changes in the coming few years.

It is also the first vehicle in its class to feature a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The base engines in both SUV’s are nearly the same. However, by tweaking the chassis of the 2017 model for aerodynamic precision, Fiat has ensured that the vehicle gives more miles per liter of fuel. The handling and steering are more precise in this model. The 2017 mode highlights and improves the off-road experience of this class of SUV.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee also comes with few improved security features. Some of them include parallel and perpendicular parking, the stop and go lights, blind spot monitoring and the lane departure warning.

The newer model is engineered to make it crash safe, a feature that was not as effective in the 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

As far as the cost of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee, when compared to older models, is concerned, the 2017 model costs a little more than its predecessor does. The 2016 model costs between $23495 and $25495. In the 2017 model, the base prices rose by $100, the trail hawk and overland prices rose by $200, latitude increased by $250 and Limited by $300. These prices are reasonable for the extra features provided by the automobile.

Overall, the 2017 Jeep Cherokee is a more desirable option for purchase as customers get more features and better design for nearly the same price.
