Highlighting Features of Scion xB

Toyota launched a sub-brand called Scion in 2002 to create a brand of cars for the younger generation. Scion cars were called youth cars as they were small, stylish, and less expensive. The company existed for thirteen years and sold a few models of small cars. Scion xB was one of their models, and it was discontinued in 2015 and was the last model of the affordable subcompact car.

The Scion xB is a second-generation boxy four-door hatchback. Toyota made some changes to their Toyota bB, moved the steering to the left, and launched it as the Scion xB in a Kei-class car shape.

The Scion xB is powered by a 2.4 Liter, four-cylinder gas engine producing 158 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. It is a front-wheel drive car with a standard five-speed manual transmission and an optional four-speed automatic transmission.

It records 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds. The Scion xB has a Strut front suspension, Torsion Beam rear suspension, and 4-wheel disc brakes.

Fuel Economy
The Scion xB has a fuel tank capacity of 14.0 gallons. Its EPA in the city is 22 MPG, and on the highway is 28 MPG and offers a combined EPA of 24 MPG.

Exteriors
Scion was made specifically for young owners in the country. Its box-shaped design was based on Toyota’s Echo and Yaris platforms. Some of its other key external features include a 16-inch glass black alloy FSA, P205/55R16 wheels, black grille, body-colored front and rear bumpers, black door handles, deep tinted glass, fixed interval wipers, galvanized steel panels, auto-dimming mirror, and liftgate rear cargo access.

Interiors
The Scion xB was larger than the previous models and is spacious and comfortable for five adult passengers. Other key interior features of the Scion xB are dynamic electric power, audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, one-touch power windows, remote keyless power door locks, bucket front seats, fabric upholstery, height adjustable driver seat with six-way manual adjustments, four-way manual passenger seat adjustment, split-folding rear seats, power rear handles, front and rear handles, manual air conditioning, full carpet flooring, and reading lights.

Safety features
Scion xB is a compact car and has received good safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It has many standard safety features, including electronic stability control, 4-wheel ABS, drivetrain traction control, emergency braking assist, side impact beams, engine immobilizer, dual-stage driver and passenger airbags, low tire pressure warning, back-up camera, outboard front lap and shoulder seat belts, height adjusters, and pretensioners.

Infotainment and connectivity features
The Scion xB was designed for younger owners and had a good entertainment system and other connectivity features that they would expect. The features include AM/FM stereo, radio with clock, 6.1-inch LD touchscreen display, hands-free phone capability, steering wheel-mounted controls, pioneer brand stereo and 6-speakers, 16-watt audio output, USB port, auxiliary audio input, and speed-sensitive volume control.

Optional customizations
Apart from the standard features, the Scion xB offered many personalizations regarding accessories and performance parts. They include a premium display audio system with navigation, Bongiovi acoustics digital processing system, leather seating, dual-setting heated front seats, and an enhanced engine immobilizer with a glass breakage sensor.
