Today the roads are getting congested by the vehicles, which are of different types, looks, and designs. The vehicles can be categorized into various types such as heavy vehicles, light vehicles, big-sized and small-sized. Each of the vehicles depends mainly on the purpose and the requirement for which it is used. The vehicles can be family cars, transport buses, school vans, mini buses or heavy trucks which have different sizes and can be used for a variety of reasons. According to a survey it has been found that the country is the second largest market for the vehicles after China.
Around 300 million vehicles have been registered so far and the number of vehicles keeps increasing. The vehicles are increasing and so is the average age of the vehicles, in the last 50 years. The three vehicle manufacturers of the country, who are referred to as ‘Big Three’ are Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Chrysler. According to the survey, the total number of passenger-vehicles is more than the drivers with a valid license. According to the automobile industry, the lightweight vehicles such as mini-trucks, buses and vans specially manufactured by foreign companies have increased its share in the market marginally. According to the study conducted in the major cities of the country in the years 2008 and 2009, it had given details about the vehicle growth and its impact on human life. The average age of most of the vehicles is found which gives the following results. Most of the cars on the road have the average age of 9.5 years. The average age of the lightweight vehicles is increased in the last few years from 7.5 to 7.9 years. The overall age of the vehicles in the country is 10.8 years. Though the age of the vehicles is increasing but the number of facilities offered such as service, support and repair have remained as it is without any change. In the next few years, the vehicles on the road are going to increase even more for sure.
