Toyota Tacoma – A Brief Overview

The new Toyota Tacoma, lovingly referred to as “taco” by its legion of fans, is a mid-size pickup truck known for its off-roading abilities. Although Tacoma’s competitors are refined, its customers are delivered what they were promised over time. With some crucial tweaks based on the feedback from loyal fans, there is something new in every trim of the all-new Tacoma. But does it stand true to its promise this time? Let us find out.

Here’s what’s new
The all-new Toyota Tacoma is jacked, with its Trial Edition and TRD trim standing half-inch taller in the rear and up to 1.5 inches from the hood than its predecessors.

Toyota Tacoma – A Brief Overview
This gives Tacoma a better presence and dominance on the road. Technically, the jacked-up arrangement is beneficial in terms of a break-over and departure angles for easy cruising even on the grittiest terrains. And if you are bored with the paint job, then the new Electric lime and Lunar Rock paint options will certainly appeal to your eyes. The “TRD Pro” logo on its rear bedsides and new hood graphics will let you boast this magnificent beast while it cruises along the freeway.

Tech specs
The new Toyota Tacoma does not disappoint, even regarding matters under the hood. While the base models have a modest four-cylinder engine, the pickup truck’s true potential can be utilized with the V-6 engine, as it provides impressive performance and towing muscle.

Auto experts suggest that if you want to feel its engine roar, prefer the six-speed manual shift over the snotty six-speed automatic transmission. While the TRD Sport versions are best for navigating city streets, TRD Pro trims are made for rougher paths. The engine exerts a power of 278 hp @ 6000 rpm, which is ideal for mid-sized pickup trucks.

So, if you are looking to tag along a mini trailer for a short trip, then brawny Tacoma can tow up to 6800 pounds under a four-wheel drive arrangement and up to 6500 pounds for trims under a two-wheel drive arrangement. When it comes to fuel economy, the new Toyota Tacoma is undoubtedly fun to drive with a V-6 under the hood. However, it gives a fuel economy of around 23mpg, which is slightly less than its competitors. So, the pickup truck can be your choice if you are looking for peppy performance.

Safety
The new Toyota Tacoma has the most standard driver-assistance technology, while maintaining class-leading status in terms of crash tests. Its key safety features include standard automated emergency braking and forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Moreover, these safety features, coupled with a taller ride height, ensure better traction control.

Interior and comfort
The new Toyota Tacoma uses hard plastics and minimalistic materials for a practical layout. However, there is an upgrade for Tacoma drivers, as they finally offer power-adjustable drivers’ seats. However, taller individuals might struggle with the legroom in the rear seats. It can easily store sufficient luggage in its boot. When it comes to infotainment and connectivity, the new Toyota Tacoma has upgraded touchscreen infotainment with 7-inch in its base model and 8.0-inch screens in its upper trims. The infotainment supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for an improved user experience.

The new Tacoma offers competitive warranty coverage with a complimentary scheduled maintenance plan in its class. While the limited warranty offers coverage of 36,000 miles or three years, the powertrain warranty covers 60,000 miles or five years (whichever is earlier). Apart from this, you can fine-tune the beast when it has been driven for 25,000 miles or two years.

So, here’s all you need to know about the  Toyota Tacoma. Besides that, check out reviews online or go for a test drive.
